Shipping & Returns

This policy governs sale, delivery, replacement, and refund of merchandise offered by Chennai Astronomy Club. Event registrations are governed separately.

1. Scope

This Shipping & Returns policy applies to merchandise offered from time to time by Chennai Astronomy Club (the “Club”), including logbooks, calendars, and similar items. It does not apply to event registrations, which are governed by Refunds & Cancellations.

This policy should be read with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

2. Territory and Currency

  1. All merchandise prices are quoted and payable in Indian Rupees (INR).
  2. The Club ships only within India. Orders will not be accepted for delivery outside India. The Club does not export merchandise.
  3. Payment is due in advance through the payment link on the relevant product listing, via a third-party payment gateway service provider.

3. Delivery

After payment is received, the Club will fulfil the order in the manner stated on the listing, being one of the following:

  1. Courier delivery within India to the shipping address provided by you; or
  2. Pickup at a Club event, where that option has been expressly announced for the relevant item.

Name, email address, phone number, and shipping address are used solely to complete the order, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Delivery timelines, where indicated, are estimates. Delays caused by the courier or by incomplete or incorrect address details provided by you are not the responsibility of the Club.

4. Defective or Incorrect Goods

  1. If an item is delivered damaged, or is not the item you ordered, you must notify the Club promptly at hello@chennaiastronomyclub.org or through the contact form, with your order details and photographic evidence.
  2. Upon verification, the Club will, at its option, replace the item or refund the amount paid for that item to the original payment method.

5. Change of Mind

Except as provided in clause 4, all merchandise sales are final. No refund, replacement, or exchange shall be due by reason of change of mind, including where the item is unused and in original packaging.

6. Event Registrations

Payments for star parties, city meetups, workshops, and other events are not merchandise orders and are governed exclusively by Refunds & Cancellations.
